Bio

Rich Mauro brings numerous years of coaching experience to Brooklyn joining St. Joseph’s College as pitching coach in the spring of 2016.

Mauro joins the Bears after serving as pitching coach for fellow Skyline Conference rival Yeshiva University from 2012-2014. A professional personal softball pitching instructor since 2003, Mauro provides individual training of pitchers for numerous varsity high school programs in the city.

He also served as the staff pitching coach for the Poly Prep Country Day School and the senior softball pitching instructor at the Cooperstown Athletics Training Organization since 2011. In additional to his softball expertise, the New York City native also coached youth baseball for many years.

Mauro is an active National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) member and was featured in the September 2016 edition of the organization’s national newspaper, Fastpitch Delivery. He is also a member of the Fastpitch Instructors National Registry and a contributor to the DiscussFastpitch.com forum.

Mauro received a Bachelor of Arts in history with minors in philosophy and education from St. John’s University in 1971.
