Women’s Swimming Takes Seventh At Skyline Championships

PURCHASE, N.Y. — The St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) women's swimming team competed in the two-day 2020 Skyline Conference Championships on Saturday and Sunday at Purchase College and came away with a seventh-place finish.

Bears Top Swims

  • The senior quartet of Valerie Rodriguez (Woodhaven, N.Y./New Utrecht), Rebecca Bollmann (Broad Channel, N.Y./Monsignor McClancy), Jessica Gnad (Brooklyn, N.Y./Leon M. Goldstein), and Kathryn Cosenza (Brooklyn, N.Y./Bishop Kearney) collected seventh-place points in both the day 1 200-yard medley relay and the day 2 400-yard freestyle relay. 
  • Jessica Gnad picked up the lone points in an individual event posting a season-best 1:14.72 in the 100-yard butterfly.
  • Kathryn Cosenza swam a pair of season bests in the 200-yard freestyle (2:33.63) and the 100-yard freestyle (1:04.61).
  • Rebecca Bollmann also turned in a season-best time in the 200-yard individual medley, taking off over seven seconds to finish in 2:48.94.
