Hartwig Extends Win Streak, John Jay bests Women’s Tennis
FLUSHING, N.Y. — The St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) women's tennis team (3-9) dropped a non-conference matchup, 7-2, to John Jay College (7-3) on Saturday afternoon at the USTA National Tennis Center.
How it Happened
Sophomore Ashleigh Hartwig (Santee, Calif./West Hills) took part in both points for the Bears, teaming with junior Katie Estes (Richmond, Vt./Mt. Mansfield Union) in the No. 2 doubles match, winning 8-4 for the Bears' first point.
Hartwig then posted the Bears' second point at No. 2 singles in an 8-4 triumph, her sixth singles win of the season. She currently rides a three-match overall win streak.
Sophomore Jaden Mecham (West Jordan, Utah/Copper Hills) took four games in the No. 6 singles spot but ultimately fell 8-4.

The Bears are back on the road on Sunday, October 20 for their season finale, Skyline Conference matchup with Mount Saint Mary College (5-6, 2-3 Skyline). First serve in Newburgh, N.Y. is set for 4 p.m.
