Women's Volleyball Hosts Mount Saint Vincent and Farmingdale in Skyline Tri-Match

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Hosting their first Skyline Conference tri-match, the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) women's volleyball team dropped a pair of straight-set decisions to the College of Mount Saint Vincent and Farmingdale State College.

How It Happened vs. Mount Saint Vincent

  • The Dolphins gained control of each set early and rode a 15-kill effort from Zana Daluz and nine kills each from Maria Leineweber and Ashleigh Scozzari to trail only once in the match.
  • Lauren GaNun led the attack with eight kills, but the Lady Bears offense was held to a negative output for the first time this season.
  • Anna Carbone posted her ninth double-double of the season with 10 assists and 17 digs.

How It Happened vs. Farmingdale State

  • The Rams received 14 kills from Barbara Wright and eight kills from Annie Cosgrave and Meaghan Moran to put down 40 kills for the match, twice as many as the Lady Bears for the contest, and trailed only once.
  • GaNun landed 12 kills had two blocks to lead the attack again.
  • Carbone dished out 14 assists and fell one dig shy of a double-double.
  • Samantha Cacace had 13 digs to anchor the defense.

Notable

  • GaNun's streak of consecutive matches with double-digit kills ends at 11.
  • Farmingdale suffered their first loss in league play, falling in straight sets to Mount Saint Vincent in the second match of the day.
