Women’s Volleyball Streak Halted at Three by Mount Saint Vincent
RIVERDALE, N.Y. — After a three-game win streak, the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) women's volleyball team (5-7, 1-2 Skyline) couldn't get their record back to .500 falling in straight sets, 3-0 (25-12, 25-8, 25-10) to the College of Mount Saint Vincent (8-13, 6-3 Skyline) in a Skyline Conference match on Wednesday evening.
How it Happened
The Bears offense was limited to just 11 kills in defeat while the hosts saw nine different Dolphins combine for 40 kills at a .411 hitting percentage.
SJC gained their first lead of the match winning the first two points of the third set and rode a pair of kills by Briana Marrazzo (East Elmhurst, N.Y./St. John's Prep) to build a 5-3 advantage. But the hosts won 10 straight points to take the lead for good and coast to their sixth league victory.
For the Bears
- Marrazzo led the Bears with five kills and a block.
- Recently named Skyline Rookie of the Week Cristina Morales (Brooklyn, N.Y./St. Edmund Prep) chipped in four kills and a team-high-tying eight digs.
