Naci’s Brace, Kieblesz’s Bicycle Kick Lifts Men’s Soccer Past Sarah Lawrence
BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Goals from Victor Naci (Bordeaux, France/Bernard Palissy) and Matthew Kieblesz (Middle Village, N.Y./Monsignor McClancy) gave the St. Joseph's University, N.Y. (Brooklyn) men's soccer team a 3-0 victory over Sarah Lawrence College under the Friday night lights of Aviator Field.
How it Happened
Naci needed just 11 minutes to open the Bears' account. Joaquin Franco (Brooklyn, N.Y./Williamsburg Prep) launched a pass to Naci from the SJBK end of the field before the France native outpaced a pair of Gryphon defenders before finding the low-left corner of the goal.
Kieblesz provided a highlight reel of the match in the 29th minute. On a St. Joseph's set-piece, the ball initially finds Sebastian Cusu (Middle Village, N.Y./Christ the King). His header then finder finds Kieblesz, who pulls off a bicycle kick to score the second goal of the match. The Bears took the 2-0 scoreline into the half.
Five minutes before the full time, Naci scored his second goal of the match – a chip shot over the Sarah Lawrence goalkeeper – thanks to another deep pass from Jesus Cano (Brooklyn, N.Y./Cristo Rey Brooklyn) to seal the Bears' 3-0 win.
