The Bears held a 2-1 advantage over Albertus Magnus after doubles matches, but the Falcons won four of the six singles to edge out a 5-4 victory St. Joseph's home opener at the National Tennis Center Thursday night.

Men’s Tennis Opens Season with Loss to Sarah Lawrence
St. Joseph's men's tennis kicked off their season with an 8-1 loss to HVMAC foe Sarah Lawrence. Junior rookie Stephane Antui was the only victor for the Bears, picking up a 10-3 win at first singles.

Men's Tennis Season Opener Postponed
Saturday's road men's tennis match vs. Brooklyn College has been postponed due to the forecast for rain. The match has been rescheduled to April 19th at 4:30 pm. The Bears will make their 2012 debut on April 3rd against Sarah Lawrence in Bronxville, NY.

Men's Tennis Closes Season with Win Over City Tech
FLUSHING, NY – New head tennis coach Andres Escalante picked up the first win of his St. Joseph’s career Tuesday night, when his Bears defeated City Tech, 6-3. Matthew Walsh (Kew Gardens, NY/Long Island City) also notched his first career singles victory.

Bears Tripped Up By Cannoneers
BROOKLYN, NY – In their second Hudson Valley Men’s Athletic Conference battle of the season, St. Joseph’s tennis was defeated by the Pratt Cannoneers, 8-1. The Bears drop to 0-2 on the season and in the HVMAC while Pratt, last season’s HVMAC runner-up, improves to 2-2.
