NEW YORK — St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) sophomore Nicole Trani (Staten Island, N.Y./Moore Catholic) has been selected as the Skyline Conference Softball Rookie of the Week as announced by the league office today.
Trani batted .625 (5-for-8) and was the top run producer for the Bears driving in eight runs over a three-game sweep of SUNY College at Old Westbury on Saturday and Monday. She also scored a team-high-tying five times, belted a triple, walked once, and sacrificed once.
In Saturday's game two triumph, she went 4-for-4 from the dish with five RBI and three runs.
Also receiving recognition for their efforts this past weekend were juniors Ashleigh Hartwig (Santee, Calif./Santee) and Jessica Mecham (West Jordan, Utah/Copper Hills).

Mecham went 2-0 in the circle going the distance in both her starts. She struck out five on the week and maintained a 2.15 ERA over 13 innings of work.
