Women's Swimming Schedule Released

BROOKLYN, NY – Following the success of their inaugural club season, Frank P. Carbone, Athletic Director, is proud to announce the addition of women's swimming as the 11th varsity sport for the 2009-2010 season.  Head coach Leonard DeVirgilio, returning for his second season, released the schedule today which features 10 meets.

St. Joseph's will compete in the Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference and begin their season with conference meets against New Rochelle (11/6) and Sarah Lawrence (11/14) before the HVWAC Tournament (12/4). 

The Lady Bears will travel to Patchogue to face the St. Joseph's – Long Island campus (12/11) in a sibling rivalry wrapping up the schedule before winter break.  The men's and women's basketball teams will continue the East vs. West showdown the following day (12/12) in a doubleheader at Brooklyn Technical High School.

Highlighting the road schedule is a trip to Baltimore, MD to face College of Notre Dame (1/23).

St. Joseph's will practice at Brooklyn Technical High School and expanding on their partnership will host two home meets against St. Elizabeth (1/12) to open the new year and Mount Saint Vincent (1/29). 

The Lady Bears will conclude their season on the road facing Old Westbury (2/4).  St. Joseph's defeated the Panthers last season for their first victory in intercollegiate competition.
