Morgan Summers Tabbed HVWAC Rookie of the Week

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Freshman Morgan Summers (Bellerose, NY/St. Mary's) has been named Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference Women's Swimming Rookie of the Week for the week ending Sunday, December 2nd in an announcement made by the conference yesterday.

Summers is recognized for the first time in her young career and the second recognition for a Lady Bear this season.

The freshman helped St. Joseph's to their first victory of the season over Lehman producing victories in all three events she swam including setting a new school record in the 200 yard IM. Summers bolstered both 200 yard medley and 200 yard free relays to near record performances. In only the third meet of her career, the freshman holds the school record in the 100 yard backstroke, set last week.

Summers follows freshman Tina Wong (Brooklyn, NY/HS of Telecommunications Art and Technology) who was named HVWAC Swimmer of the Week last week.

The Lady Bears dive back into the pool on Friday, December 7th when they compete in a double-dual meet with sibling rival school St. Joseph's (Long Island) and Old Westbury in the much anticipated East-West showdown at Patchogue. The meet will commence at 3:00 p.m.
