Women's Volleyball Concludes Non-Conference Slate at Baruch
NEW YORK — Cristina Morales (Brooklyn, N.Y./St. Edmund Prep) put away seven kills but the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) women's volleyball team fell in straight sets (25-10, 25-8, 25-18) to Baruch College in a non-conference match on Wednesday evening.
How it Happened
The Bearcats (16-6) hit .344 over the opening two sets to smother the Bears (7-11) over the first two stanzas.
St. Joseph's gained their first lead in the third and led by as many as four at the 8-4 mark and led as late as 13-11 before a 10-2 run put the hosts up for good.
For the Bears
- Morales posted team-highs of seven kills and 10 digs, and added two blocks.
- Freshmen Teuta Hoxha (Kew Gardens, N.Y./Queens Metropolitan) and Ayomide Adeoye (Brooklyn, N.Y./Edward R. Murrow) both contributed three kills with Adeoye stuffing as many blocks.
- Rookie Kaitlyn Intindola (Brooklyn, N.Y./Bishop Kearney) dished out 14 assists and brought up six digs.
- All nine Bears to see the court registered at least two digs each.
