Cross Country Competes at Golden Eagle Invite

BETHPAGE, N.Y. —  Alexis Buchanan and Jonathan Oca were the top finishers for the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) cross country teams at the Golden Eagle Invitational on Sunday at Bethpage State Park.

Buchanan paced the women to a 15th-place team finish clocking in a 24:02 for a 53rd place finish. Raquel Ramirez was the second finisher for the Bears in 107th place with a time of 28:20 and was followed by Grace Kennedy in 28:29 and Jamie Provino in 28:35.

Oca finished in 83rd overall with a time of 31:31 to guide the men to a 17th-place team finish in the 8K race. Christopher Marina cracked the top 100 in 98th place in 33:08. Aaron De Leon crossed third in 36:06 in 126th overall.

The Bears are scheduled to return to action Saturday, October 16 in the SJC Long Island Invitational at Sunken Meadow State Park.
