SJC Brooklyn takes on sibling rivals SJC Long Island in the first of three consecutive games at The Hill Center. After a fourth-quarter comeback against USMMA that fell short last Tuesday, the navy and gray picked up back-to-back road wins against Pratt Institute and Yeshiva.

During the Bears’ 2-1 start to February, Kelly O'Donnell averaged 30 points and 6.7 rebounds; earning her second-career Skyline Player of the Week honor and her first-ever D3hoops.com Team of the Week nod in the process. The senior scored 21 points against the Mariners before turning in a pair of 30-plus point games in triumphs over the Cannoneers (season-high 37) and the Maccabees (32). She currently ranks second in the conference with 20.2 points per outing.

O'Donnell’s 32-point effort against Yeshiva saw her surpass Mary Barry '03 for second place on SJC’s all-time scoring list. Sitting at 1,919, O'Donnell needs 85 points to match the 2,004-point threshold set by Rosanne Wahl '00.

Alexis Breen averaged 14 points in the three-game stretch, including a pair of 16-point games in the Bears' two wins, while Emma Kiley posted a near double-double in that span (10 ppg, 7.7 rpg).

In their December meeting, O’Donnell (20 pts, 18 reb) and Kiley (18 pts, 17 reb) logged double-doubles against the Golden Eagles in Patchogue. Breen and Jamie Provino each scored 12 points while Grace Kennedy came away with 10 bench points.

The Golden Eagle Gameplan

SJC Long Island faces their Brooklyn-based sibling rivals as they look to bounce back from a weekend loss to Mount Saint Vincent. The Golden Eagles dropped three of their last four games with their lone victory in that span coming against Purchase.

A trio of Golden Eagles – Lanyah Ford, Alyssa Adomaites, and Alyssa Signor – all finished with 10 points against the Dolphins their last time out, with Signor collecting 10 boards for her third straight double-double. Averaging a conference-leading 23.2 points per game, which is also good for fourth in Division III, Adomaites’ 10-point output against CMSV was a season-low for the three-time Skyline Player of the Week.

Against the Panthers last Tuesday, Adomaites and Brianna Cordell each netted 16 points, combining to go 14-of-21 from the floor, to lead all scorers while Signor (14), Isabella Sierra (13), and Catherine Siounis (10) also scored in double figures as Long Island came away with a comfortable 91-29 win.

The Golden Eagles’ 75.8 points per game lead the conference, pouring 90-plus points on six occasions this season. Their league-leading 32.8 defensive rebounds are good for eighth in Division III. Individually, Signor (15.1 ppg) and Ford (10.6) average double-figures in scoring, joining Adomaites. Signor is the lone Golden Eagle averaging a double-double, adding 10.2 boards.
