Final NCAA Division III Baseball Statistics Released
BROOKLYN, NY – In the final statistics report for 2012, junior pitcher Paul Piccirillo (Brooklyn, NY/Xaverian) finished in the top 50 in three categories, ranked 20th in hits allowed per nine innings (6.31), 21st in victories (9) and 42nd in complete games (6). Senior Joseph Boccia (Westwood, NJ/Westwood) was also among those ranked, finishing 181st in batting average (.383).
At the conclusion of the Bears' season, Piccirillo was ranked 10th in the nation in victories, assembling a perfect 9-0 record on the mound and helping the Bears to their first winning season with an 18-17 mark.
The final statistics report is released after the conclusion of the NCAA Baseball Championships.
As a team, the Bears finished in the top 10 in the team rankings, ranked 7th in double plays per game (1.11) and 40th in double plays (39).
