PATCHOGUE, N.Y. — The St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) baseball team (10-10-1, 3-7 Skyline) battled the College of Mount Saint Vincent (11-10, 6-4 Skyline) in a Skyline Conference doubleheader at the SJC Outdoor Field Complex on Saturday, dropping both games as CMSV outhit the Bears 26-10 on the day.

A hit batsman and walk set up first and second for the Dolphins and Pedro Fortoso followed with an RBI single to center giving his team the first run of the game in the top of the second.

SJC answered in the bottom half as a Will DeLuca (Valley Stream, N.Y./Valley Stream Central) double, paired with two CMSV errors and RBI knocks from Adam Schwartz (Staten Island, N.Y./Susan E. Wagner) and Anthony Palermo (Patchogue, N.Y./Sachem North), led to a 5-1 advantage after two.

Four singles and a dropped fly ball gave the Dolphins three runs in their half of the third to immediately cut the deficit to one (5-4). Anthony Nocero singled home Matt DiNorcia to tie it at five in the fourth and Nick Saranczak stroked an RBI double in inning six for CMSV's first lead of the game, 6-5, entering the seventh.

The Dolphins went off for nine runs across the last two innings while holding the Bears scoreless to secure the victory behind four-straight singles in the ninth along with an error and two hit batters. Mount Saint Vincent entered the twin-bill at sixth in the league, the Bears at seventh, and CMSV moved to fifth with the sweep.
