How it Happened (Game 1):

The two sides traded as many runs in the first inning. Lucas Collet (Toulouse, France/Lyc'ee Bellevue) tripled to right center before scoring on Michael Gardener's (Farmingdale, N.Y./Farmingdale) sacrifice fly, 2-2.

The Bears again tied the game, this time at three all, in the fourth. The Bearvers retool the advantage in their half of the sixth.

The bases were loaded with one out for Leary in the seventh. He sent the first pitch of the at-bat to center field, allowing Doug Paider (Glendale, N.Y./Monsignor McClancy) and TJ Moussette (Centereach, N.Y./Newfield) – who beat out a play at the plate – to score and winning the game 5-4 in walkoff fashion.

How it Happened (Game 2):

Scoring began in the fourth inning when the Beavers hit Bears' starter Sean Henris (Commack, N.Y./Commack) for four runs. They scored two more in the fifth. The Bears earned a consolation run when Leary scored on Lombardi's double to Center as the contest ended 6-1.

For the Bears (Game 1):

  • Gardener and Moussette joined Leary in recording at least one RBI.
  • Sean Schneeberg (Columbia, Tenn./Del Oro) went 2-for-3 in the game, the lone Bear with multiple hits.
  • Justin Conaty (Brooklyn, N.Y./James Madison) tossed a complete game, striking out five and walking a pair of Beavers. He also conceded three earned runs.

For the Bears (Game 2):

  • Five Bears logged five hits in the contest.

  • Leary scored the Bears' lone run. 

  • Henris struck out five as he was dealt the defeat.
