Dance Team Collects Awards at UDA Camp

SCRANTON, Pa. – For the second straight year, the St. Joseph's College Dance Team brought home the Program Improvement Award and a superior trophy at the Universal Dance Association (UDA) College Spirit Camp at Scranton University.

Under the direction of newly appointed head coach Kelly Hartney, the Diamonds collected 12 superior ribbons in total -- the highest possible for the team to earn. The superior ribbon is the highest awarded in evaluation for the routines learned at camp.

The Program Improvement Award is selected by the UDA staff recognizing teams who have demonstrated significant progression over the previous years of camp.

All women interested in joining the Dance Team are invited to their fall tryout on Monday, September 9 at 5:30 pm in the Tuohy Gym. All are reminded that they need to be medically cleared by the Sports Medicine Staff in order to participate in the tryout. For any questions, please contact Coach Hartney at khartney@sjcbears.com.
