Mangan Named HVWAC Rookie of the Week, Two Named to Honor Roll

NEW YORK, NY – In reports released by the conference earlier this week, freshman guard Teresa Mangan (Cleveland, OH/St. Joseph's) has been named Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week for the second straight week. 

During a week where St. Joseph's went 2-1 with key victories over York and Southern Maine CC, Mangan averaged 10.3 points per game and 3.0 rebounds, on 36 percent shooting (14-for-39) from the field.

Also being recognized for their fine play were sophomore Ashley McQuillan (Brooklyn, NY/St. Francis Prep) and senior Larry Fawcett (Middle Village, NY/Christ the King) who were both granted honorable mention by the respective conferences.

McQuillan averaged 19.0 points, 5.0 steals and 3.7 assists per game over a three game stretch for the Lady Bears, highlighted by a 26 point outburst in the win over York College.

Fawcett scored a career-high 31 points during a high-scoring 111-102 loss to Southern Maine CC where he drained eight three-pointers, which helped spark a second half comeback bid that fell short.
