Louison Named AD3I Player of the Week, HVMAC Rookie of the Week

BROOKLYN, NY – St. Joseph's College freshman David Louison (Brooklyn, NY/St. Edmund's Prep) has been named the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) Player of the Week and for the second consecutive week, the Hudson Valley Men's Athletic Conference (HVMAC) Rookie of the Week.

Louison led the Bears to a 1-1 week including a win over CUNYAC opponent John Jay College. His 18 point, 14 rebound performance helped knock off the previously undefeated Bloodhounds. He recorded a double-double in each game averaging 15 points and 15 rebounds per game while shooting 50% (14-for-28) from the floor. Louison, the team leader in rebounds per game, grabbed a career-high 16 boards in a loss to Vermont Tech.

Also recognized by the conference this week was senior guard Justin Gist (Brooklyn, NY/Newsome). Gist averaged 19 points and 4.5 assist in the Bears' two games last week. His 24 points against Vermont Tech were a season-high and he leads the team with 14.2 points per game.

Louison, Gist and the rest of the Bears travel to take on York College on Tuesday, November 29th at 8:00 pm. It is the first of three road games for St. Joseph's this week who also head to Bard on December 3rd and the Culinary Institute on December 4th for their first HVMAC battle of the season.
