Louison Named AD3I & HVMAC Player of the Week

BROOKLYN, NY - Recognizing his strong play at the Centenary College Holiday Classic, freshman forward David Louison (Brooklyn, NY/St. Edmund's Prep) was named as the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) and Hudson Valley Men's Athletic Conference (HVMAC) Player of the Week for the week ending January 1st, 2012.

Louison led the Bears to a third place finish at the Holiday Classic, recording his fifth and sixth double-doubles of the season, a category which he is tied for 10th in Division III.  In the win over Lehman in the consolation game, Louison netted 31 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, scoring 14 of his points in the final 12 minutes to help lead the Bears to the come-from-behind victory.

For the tournament, Louison averaged 22.0 points and 11.5 rebounds and shot 16-of-28 (57 percent) and was named to the All-Tournament team, earning the distinction for the second time this season.

Louison also ranks number 17 in Division III in rebounding, averaging 10.8 rebounds a game.

It is the second time Louison has received the award from AD3I and first time from the HVMAC.  Louison has been named HVMAC Rookie of the Week three times this season.
