Jassiel Ferrer Named HVMAC Rookie of the Week

BROOKLYN, NY – Freshman forward Jassiel Ferrer (Brooklyn, NY/NEST+M) has been named the Hudson Valley Men's Athletic Conference basketball Rookie of the Week for games played through February 5th in an announcement made by the conference earlier this week.

It is the sixth Rookie of the Week honor captured by a Bear, with David Louison (Brooklyn, NY/St. Edmund's Prep) receiving the honor five times this season and most recently as last week.  

Ferrer recorded his first career double-double scoring 13 points, grabbing 11 rebounds and swatting away two shots, all career-highs, during the Bears' win over Sarah Lawrence that snapped a four-game skid.

Since the Sarah Lawrence win, the Bears have won three-straight, and look to return to .500 facing Lancaster Bible College on the road on Friday, February 10th.
