Louison Receives USCAA Honorable Mention; Moore & Marino Named All-Academic

UNIONTOWN, PA – At the banquet commencing the 2012 United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) National Basketball Championships, freshman David Louison (Brooklyn, NY/St. Edmund Prep) received All-American Honorable Mention and sophomores John Moore (Glendale, NY/Archbishop Molloy) and Matt Marino (Fort Wayne, IN/Rutherford) were named to the National All-Academic Team.

Louison adds to a long list of accolades from an outstanding rookie campaign, being selected Association of Division III Independents Rookie of the Year and First Team All-Independent earlier this week and also earning Hudson Valley Men's Athletic Conference All-Conference Team honors. Louison had his named sprinkled among the USCAA statistical leaders ranked #3 in rebounding (10.3 rpg), #16 in field goal percentage (48.8%) and #20 in blocks (1.0 bpg).

In his first year for the Bears, Moore appeared in 18 games and pulled down a season-high 13 rebounds against Pratt on February 7th and scored a season-high seven points against Sarah Lawrence on February 1st.

Marino appeared in 11 games and tallied a career-high 17 points against Sarah Lawrence on February 1st.

Moore and Marino earn their first career National All-Academic nods and join six other Bears and Lady Bears receiving USCAA All-Academic honors already this season.
