Bears Seek First Win of 2013 Tonight in Staten Island

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) men's basketball travels across the Verrazano Bridge to take on the College of Staten Island in a non-conference road tilt tonight at the CSI Sports and Recreation Center starting at 7:30 p.m.

St. Joseph's (8-4) looks to rebound from a disappointing road loss to Drew on Monday after a four-week break that snapped a three-game win streak.

Double-double machines sophomore David Louison (13.2 ppg, 12.6 rpg) and freshman Michael Megafu (13.2 ppg, 12.0 rpg, 63.2 FG%) continue to anchor the Bears and remain tied for third in Division III, each recording their eighth double-doubles in Monday's loss. Both are also ranked in the top 10 in rebounding, Louison at No. 4 and Megafu at No. 7.

When the Bears last traveled to the CSI Sports and Recreation Center in their 2011 regular-season finale, they stunned the Dolphins with a 103-102 victory powered by a school-record 17 three-pointers and three Bears scoring 20-or-more points led by Jan Rogowski's 24.

Staten Island (8-2) sits atop the CUNY Athletic Conference with a perfect 5-0 record in league play and captured a 72-68 victory over Lehman on Tuesday night, who the Bears also upended 65-56 to close out 2012.

Junior guard Jon Chadwick-Myers leads the Dolphin offense averaging 19.9 points a game highlighted by a season-best 29 on Tuesday. Louison and Megafu will have to contend against big men Dylan Bulger (12.5 ppg, 9.7 rpg) and Javon Cox (11.4 ppg, 7.9 rpg) who both average double-digit scoring and anchor a squad ranked No. 19 in rebounding margin (+8.6).
