Louison Earns Third AD3I Player of the Week Honors

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – David Louison (Brooklyn, NY/St. Edmund Prep) has been named Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) men's basketball Player of the Week after recording two double-doubles for the Bears during the week ending Sunday, January 13.

The sophomore forward recorded his eighth and ninth double-doubles of the season, a category he ranks tied for fourth in Division III, averaging 15.7 points and 11.7 rebounds over the three-game stretch. Louison dropped in 18 points and brought down 13 rebounds in a loss to Drew and fell one rebound shy of another double-double with 19 points and nine rebounds in a loss to Staten Island.

Louison finished off his week with 11 points and 13 caroms in a victory over Culinary Institute. For the week, Louison shot 53.8 percent from the field (21-of-39) and also swiped 2.7 steals per game. The sophomore is currently averaging a double-double with career-highs in points (13.7) and rebounds (12.3) and is shooting an efficient 48 percent from the field on the season.

The Bears have received AD3I Player of the Week honors five times this season, Louison now a three-time winner and teammate Michael Megafu (Brooklyn, NY/Nazareth Regional) a two-time recipient. The AD3I weekly accolade is the sixth for the sophomore in his career.

Louison and the Bears return to the hardwood on Thursday, January 17th at NYU-Poly looking to bounce back from a tough loss at home to Medgar Evers on Monday. Tip-off is slated for 7:00 p.m.
