Louison Earns February AD3I Student-Athlete of the Month Honors

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – David Louison (Brooklyn, NY/St. Edmund Prep) has been named the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) Student-Athlete of the Month for the month of February after helping lead the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) men's basketball team to an appearance in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association National Tournament for the first time since 2007.

The sophomore finished off his sophomore campaign averaging a double-double for the month of February and finished with a double-double average for the season. Louison averaged 13.4 points and 10.6 boards over the month improving his ranking to No.6 in the nation in rebounding, a category he has remained in the Top 10 throughout the season.

The forward recorded his 13th and 14th double-doubles of the season, improving his standing in that category to No.12 nationally. Louison's 13th double-double came by way of his third career 20-20 game, a 24-point, 20-rebound effort in the Bears win over Lancaster Bible, earning his fourth AD3I Player of the Week honor this season. The sophomore was also named a USCAA First-Team All-American after finishing the season with 23 games out of 29 with double-digit points and 19 games with 10+ rebounds. Louison was St. Joseph's leading scorer in a team-high 12 games this season.

The sophomore receives the Student-Athlete of the Month honor for the second time this season having earned the accolade in November. Louison follows teammate Michael Megafu (Brooklyn, NY/Nazareth Regional) who earned the honor for the month of December.
