Series History

The Bears look to pick up their first ever win in the all-times series as the Cardinals have taken the schools' previous two meetings over the last two seasons.

Last Meeting

St. Joseph's fell behind by 19 points in the first first half and the deficit proved too much to overcome as a last minute rally came up short, leading to a 76-72 victory for York at Brooklyn Technical High School on December 1, 2012.

David Louison led the way for the Bears with 14 points, 13 rebounds, four assists and three steals. Megafu added 10 points and 13 caroms.

Last Time Out: Powered by the eighth straight double-double from Megafu, St. Joseph's defeated Valley Forge Christian College, 82-76, last night for their second road win of the season. The sophomore finished the night with a game-high-tying 20 points on 9-of-13 shooting and 12 rebounds for his team-leading 11th double-double on the year.

St. Joseph's continues their pivotal four-game stretch away from Brooklyn Technical High School which could either make or break their season as they look to make the USCAA National Tournament for the second consecutive year.

Louison, the reigning AD3I and HVIAC Player of the Week, continues to lead the Bears in scoring averaging a career-high 17.5 points per game and is shooting an efficient 50.2 percent from the field. The junior adds 8.7 rebounds per game and has seven double-doubles on the year.

Adding toughness to the frontcourt for St. Joseph's is Megafu who continues to record double-doubles on a nightly basis, recording eight in a row and 11 on the year. The sophomore averages a career-high 16.5 points per game at a 56.3 percent shooting clip and brings down a team-high 10.4 boards per game.

Leading the Bears in the backcourt is junior Vernon Maddox and sophomore Matt O'Neill who average 10.3 and 9.8 points per game, respectively. Maddox is coming off a career-high 18 points against Valley Forge while O'Neill chipped in 16 points and four steals against the Patriots. The sophomore currently leads the team with 2.6 steals per contest.

Cardinal Watch

Last Time Out: York dropped a close 80-75 decision to CUNYAC foe Staten Island on Wednesday. The Cardinals were led by Michael Woods who had a game-high 31 points.

York thrives on the offensive end of the floor, averaging 84.2 points per game (No. 23 in Division III) on efficient 48.1 percent shooting from the floor (No. 49 in Division III). The Cardinals also wreak havoc on the defensive end as well, averaging 12.0 steals per game (No. 6 in Division III).

Leading York on the offensive end is Michael Woods who is averaging a team-high 29.5 points per game (No. 2 in Division III) on 50.0 percent shooting. The junior has scored at least 20 points in each of the last nine games, including two games with 40+ points.

Also averaging in double figures for the Cardinals is Omar St. John who pours in 18.0 points per game and Jaron Williams who contributes 10.6 points on a nightly basis. Williams also leads the team with 9.8 boards per game.
