Louison Nabs His 16th Career AD3I Player of the Week Award

BROOKLYN, N.Y.—After securing two more double-doubles and averaging 20.5 points and 14.5 rebounds, David Louison (Brooklyn, NY/St. Edmund Prep) has been named the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) Men's Basketball Player of the Week.

In a 1-1 week for the Bears, Louison also shot 51.5 percent from the floor, averaging 3.0 assists and 3.5 blocks.

On Thursday, against HVIAC rival Berkeley College with the No. 1 seed in the conference at stake, Louison posted team highs in points (16), boards (13) and helpers (5). In addition, the senior rejected a school-record seven shots to cap off a brilliant performance.

On Saturday, St. Joseph's downed Albany Pharmacy in their regular season finale to clinch the No. 2 seed. Louison led the offensive attack, dropping a game-high 25 points on 12-of-23 shooting. The forward also grabbed a game-best 16 boards to secure his 18th double-double of the season.

This is the sixteenth time in his career and third time this season that Louison has received the AD3I Player of the Week honor. The senior concluded the regular season as St. Joseph's leader in scoring (16.6 ppg), rebounding (11.3 rpg), blocks (1.4 bpg) and minutes (32.9 mpg).

He and the Bears will now shift their attention to the HVIAC Tournament beginning on Saturday, February 21, when No. 2 St. Joseph's (17-8, 5-1 HVIAC) will clash with No. 3 Vaughn College (13-12, 4-2 HVIAC) at 4 p.m. in Albany, N.Y. Live stats will be available at SJCBears.com.
