BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) men's basketball team (0-8, 0-3 Skyline) took a home conference loss to the College of Mount Saint Vincent (4-5, 2-1 Skyline), 76-53, on Saturday afternoon.
How it Happened
Following the Bears' early 5-2 start, the Dolphins scored 26 of the game's next 28 points to hold a 28-7 advantage. SJC brought the deficit down to as low as 11 – behind a combined 12 points in the period from Chris Mikos (Freehold, N.J./St. John Vianney) and Emmanuel Coffy (Marlboro, N.J./Marlboro) – before CMSV took their 39-26 lead to the locker room.
The Bears once again trailed by as little as 11 in the early stages of the second half, 41-30. thanks to Mikos driving in a layup off a Dolphin turnover at the 18:51 mark. Mount Saint Vincent, who shot 11-for-33 from beyond the arc throughout the contest, took their largest lead of the game, 75-49, with 1:43 to go before confirming the 76-53 result.
