Miner Selected as HVMAC Rookie of the Week

BROOKLYN, NY – Ranked #2 overall in Division III for saves per game (13.6), freshman goalie Michael Miner, proved himself exceptional earning this week's Hudson Valley Men's Athletic Conference Soccer Rookie of the Week.

Miner made a career-high 20 saves against Yeshiva (10/25), seven in the first half keeping the Bears within one point of the Maccabees. He faced a total 39 shots, which combined with a struggling St. Joseph's offense, resulted in a 0-5 loss. Miner rose to the occasion once again, recording another 18 saves against Cooper Union (10/27) in a valiant effort that ended in defeat with a 0-6 loss.

It is the first time Miner has received the honor, the second by a Bear this season with Raul Urshela receiving the award on October 4.
