Five Goal First Half Sees Mount Saint Mary Top Men’s Soccer

NEWBURGH, N.Y. — The St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) men's soccer team (2-7-1) resumed conference play on Saturday afternoon, falling to, two-time defending Skyline champions, Mount Saint Mary College (5-4-1), 0-6.

How it Happened

The Knights got on the board eight minutes following the opening whistle with a goal that was assisted by Joey Dolan. In the 14th minute, Dolan scored the first of three goals to extend the MSMC lead to 2-0. Midway through the first half, the hosts scored twice more, in the span of two minutes, to double their lead to 4-0 before Dolan netted his second goal, giving the Knights a 5-0 lead in the final minute of the period.

In the 59th minute, Dolan scored the only goal of the second half; completing his hat trick.

For the Bears

  • Joseph Sepulveda (East Elmhurst, N.Y./Bayside) was responsible for three of the five shots in the game for St. Joseph's.
  • Alejandro Oliveros (Brooklyn, N.Y./Grover Cleveland) came up with the four saves in the loss.
