Naci Repeats as Skyline Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week

NEW YORK — Victor Naci (Bordeaux, France/Bernard Palissy) was named the Skyline Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week following his six-goal effort in an undefeated week for the St. Joseph's University, NY (Brooklyn). The announcement was made by the league office on Tuesday morning.

Last Monday, the sophomore netted all three goals in the Bears' 3-1 win over SUNY Maritime from Randall's Island. His hat trick brought him to 16 goals, tying him with Kenneth Garcia for the most goals by a Bear in a season.

Naci's first goal against Old Westbury last Saturday, a chip shot past the keeper, set the new program record. He finished with a hat trick for the second consecutive match.

Naci's Skyline-leading 19 goals places him atop the NCAA Division III goal-scoring chart. He also leads the nation in points (41, also a program single-season record), points per game (3.31), and goals per game (1.54).

Pablo Mejia (Elmhurst, N.Y./Academy of Finance and Enterprise), last week's Skyline Rookie of the Week, was named to the Weekly Honor Roll following his three assists against the Privateers and goal against the Panthers.

This week, the 5-5-3 Bears (3-3-2 Skyline) visit Purchase College on Wednesday, October 19 at 7 p.m. and host Senior Day ceremonies against Mount Saint Mary College on Saturday, October 22 at 4 p.m. Live stats and video of both matches will be available on sjbkathletics.com/live.
