Naci Named NCAA Men's Soccer Statistical Champion in Two Categories

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Added to his record-setting first season at St. Joseph's University, NY (Brooklyn), men's soccer player Victor Naci (Bordeaux, France/Bernard Palissy) was named 2022 NCAA Statistical Champion in points per game and goals per game. These are the first statistical championships earned by a men's soccer player in program history.

With a single-season program best 22 goals, Naci averaged 1.44 goals per match; beating out John Cronnolly of Dominican University (1.38) and Ander Castillo of Medaille College (1.28). The France native also totaled a Division III-leading 3.06 points per contest, the only player from the Skyline Conference to crack the top 40 in that category.

Along with his statistical championships, Naci was named Skyline Offensive Player of the Year and Third Team All-Region by United Soccer Coaches; both firsts in program history.

Naci becomes the fifth Bear overall to earn an individual statistical championship. The sophomore is also the first student-athlete since Cansu Usta to earn multiple statistical  championships in the same season (2014, women's soccer). Commemorative plaques from the NCAA honoring Naci's achievements will soon be on display in The Hill Center trophy case.
