Naci Named Skyline Men's Soccer Student-Athlete of the Year

NEW YORK — Victor Naci (Bordeaux, France/Bernard Palissy) of the St. Joseph's University, N.Y. (Brooklyn) men's soccer team has been named 2022 Skyline Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year. The announcement was made by the league office on Tuesday.

The sophomore marketing major, who possesses a 3.83 grade-point average, adds the academic accolade to an already accomplished first season in Clinton Hill. The two-time Player of the Week earned the conference's Offensive Player of the Year following a 22-goal campaign. He was recently crowned NCAA Statistical Champion as his Division III-topping 1.44 goals per game and 3.06 points per game led the navy and gray to a program-best 6-6-4 record and a 4-4-3 conference record.

Naci was also the first men's soccer player to receive an honor from United Soccer Coaches, earning a place on the All-Region Third Team. His goal tally set the single-season scoring record in program history and needs 12 goals to hold the program's all-time record.

The France native is the sixth Bear in any sport to be named Skyline Scholar-Athlete of the Year and the first men's soccer player tabbed with the distinction. Naci joins former softball player and recent graduate Ashleigh Hartwig '22 to earn the conference's Player of the Year and Scholar-Athlete of the Year in the same season.

The Skyline Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award is presented in each sport to the first-team All-Skyline performer who carries the highest grade-point average, minimum 3.30, for the semester in which the student-athlete competes.
