Yeshiva Hands Men’s Soccer Defeat in Skyline Opener

TEANECK, N.J. — The St. Joseph's University, N.Y. (Brooklyn) men's soccer team dropped their opening Skyline Conference match to Yeshiva University, 3-0, on Tuesday night from the Votee Park Sportsplex.

Despite the two sides trading three shots each in the first half, the Maccabees (3-1-2, 3-0-2) found their opening goal in the 42nd minute; scoring on a one-on-one chance and finding the lower left of the frame.

The hosts had more of the attacking opportunities in the second half, adding two more goals to their tally to secure their 3-0 result.

For the Bears

  • Jesus Cano (Brooklyn, N.Y./Cristo Rey Brooklyn) led the team in shots, taking three of the Bears' seven.

  • Christian Chimborazo (Elmhurst, N.Y./Queens Technical) registered four saves.
