Naci Claims Skyline Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week Honors; Chimborazo to Weekly Honor Roll

NEW YORK — Junior striker Victor Naci (Bordeaux, France/Bernard Palissy) of the St. Joseph's University, N.Y. (Brooklyn) men's soccer team was named Skyline Conference Offensive Player of the Week, for the Week ending on Monday, as announced by the league office earlier today.

In the Bears' undefeated week, Naci scored three goals. Last Tuesday at SUNY Maritime, he scored with 12 seconds remaining in the first half. Naci followed it up with a two-goal effort against Sarah Lawrence on Friday night.

Naci has scored in each of the last three contests for the navy and gray, providing the eventual match-winning goal in the span. His seven goals this campaign are good for fourth in the Skyline.

This is the second weekly honor garnered by a men's soccer player in 2023, following Christian Chimborazo's (Elmhurst, N.Y./Queens Technical) Defensive Player of the Week nod after the second week of the season. The goalkeeper found himself on the Weekly Honor Roll thanks to a pair of clean sheets, the first two of his career, and six saves.

Naci, Chimborazo, and the Bears are in action this afternoon against the SUNY College at Old Westbury before hosting Purchase College at Aviator on Saturday, October 14. Live stats and video of the matches will be available on sjbkathletics.com/live
