Kieblesz's Late Header Rescues Point for Men's Soccer Against Mount Saint Mary

NEWBURGH, N.Y. — Junior defender Matthew Kieblesz (Middle Village, N.Y./Monsignor McClancy) scored the match-equalizing goal with 15 seconds remaining in regulation to see the St. Joseph's University, N.Y. (Brooklyn) men's soccer team and Mount Saint Mary College share the spoils in a 1-1 draw on Tuesday evening from Kaplan Field.

How it Happened

The Knights opened the scoring six minutes into the contest, thanks to Peter Ramirez. Both sides had two shots on goal with the hosts edging the Bears in shots, 5-4 including a pair of shots off the woodwork, during the first half.

Most of the Bears' second-half shots came in the 20 minutes of the stanza. In their final offensive effort, Pablo Mejia (Elmhurst, N.Y./Academy of Finance and Enterprise), sent a cross from outside of the 18-yard box into the front of the net. Kieblesz then headed the ball over the MSMC keeper and into the goal. The goal came with 15 seconds on the clock, sealing the 1-1 draw.
