Han Victorious as Bears Fall to Brooklyn and York

BROOKLYN, NY – The St. Joseph's College men's tennis team dropped matches to Brooklyn College on Wednesday and York College on Thursday both by a score of 6-3.  Senior Ed Han (McLean, VA/W.T. Woodson) went undefeated over the stretch, winning both his individual matches and both doubles matches.

Against Brooklyn, Han rolled to a 10-3 victory at first singles over Anthony Chan for his first singles win of the season.  Han returned the next day to cruise to a 6-0, 6-1 win at first singles over York's Ayman Busat.

At first doubles, Han paired with sophomore Muhammad Ali Bhatti (Brooklyn, NY/James Madison) to win their match against Brooklyn 8-3 and York 8-2.  Han/Bhatti are undefeated this season at first doubles with a 3-0 record.
Bhatti split his matches at second singles, winning 10-7 over Brooklyn's Kristoffer Flores, but falling 7-5, 6-1 to York's Michael Lateef.

Junior Jon Matzelle (Maspeth, NY/St. Francis Prep) also tallied a point for the Bears winning at third singles against York's Erick Giron 6-2, 6-4 playing in his first match of the season.

St. Joseph's (0-3) returns to the courts travelling to College of Staten Island on Monday, April 5 for a non-conference match starting at 7 p.m.
