As Sophomore: Played in nine singles matches and ten doubles matches … Won his only singles match at fourth set, 8-6, on May 3rd against City Tech … Won two doubles matches including the quarterfinal round at the HVMAC Tournament.

As Freshman: Played in nine singles matches and nine doubles matches... Single matches he went 1-8 moving from 6th to 4th singles by the end of the year...In doubles matches, Akwei won both of his matches at 2nd flight and finished 2-7 overall... Both of his wins were with Mahmoud Elsayed as his partner... On April 22 at City Tech vs. Cliffor Pierrot, Akwei won his first singles match, 10-8.
