Bears Tennis Swept by Brooklyn College

BROOKLYN, NY – The St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) men's tennis team was swept by borough rivals Brooklyn College falling 9-0 on Thursday afternoon at the Roosevelt Courts.

The Bears remain winless on the season dropping to 0-7 while the Bulldogs notched their second win improving to 2-11.

Junior Kevin Diaz (Staten Island, NY/Monsignor Farrell) and senior Danny Contant (Staten Island, NY/Xaverian) teamed up to play the most competitive match at #2 doubles, falling 8-4.

Senior Muhammad Ali Bhatti (Brooklyn, NY/James Madison) played a hard-fought match at #1 singles in the longest match of the day, taking numerous games to deuce, before succumbing 6-3, 6-3.  Bhatti teamed up earlier with freshman Vinny Rossi (Bayside, NY/Holy Cross) for the first time this season, falling 8-2 at #1 doubles, Rossi dropping his #2 singles match at love.

The Bears return to the courts on Sunday, April 22nd for a Hudson Valley Men's Athletic Conference match against the Culinary Institute of America taking place at Pratt Institute starting at 4 pm.
