Caicedo Claims Singles Win as Men's Tennis Opens Season Against Albertus Magnus
PURCHASE, N.Y.— Junior Kevin Caicedo (Jackson Heights, N.Y./Monsignor McClancy) secured the lone point for the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) men's tennis team as they opened their 2016 season with an 8-1 non-conference loss to Albertus Magnus College at the Purchase College Tennis Courts

How It Happened
- The Falcons swept the opening doubles session to take a 3-0 lead. Seniors Kyle Johnson and Carlos Mayorga teamed up at No. 2 doubles and were edged out by a break, 8-6, by Mathew Mezzei and Daniel Constantinidi.
- Singles play saw all six matches finish in straight sets, with Kevin Caicedo picking up his first win of the season at No. 2 singles defeating Cerrone Bell 6-3, 6-4.
- Freshman Vaso Vukosavovic dropped a 6-3, 6-1 decision at the top of the lineup at No. 1 singles and senior Johnson fell by the same margin at No. 3 singles.

The Bears will have a quick turnaround returning to the courts tomorrow, March 24 facing John Jay College in another non-conference match starting at 4 p.m. at the Wayne Indoor Tennis Club.
