Mayorga's Undefeated Week Leads to Honor Roll Nod

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Going undefeated last week and helping the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) men's tennis team to their first Skyline Conference victory, senior Carlos Mayorga (East Elmhurst, N.Y./St. John's Prep) has been named to the league honor roll for games played April 11-17.

The senior went 2-0 at both singles and doubles as the Bears faced Lehman and Sage. Mayorga dropped just five games in total in all four matches, never surrendering more than a game in any set.

In the Bears 9-0 win over Sage, their first shutout victory in program history, Mayorga teamed up with Kevin Caicedo for a 8-0 victory at No. 2 doubles and cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 4 singles, picking up his team-leading fourth singles win of the season.

The honor roll selection is Mayorga's second of the season.

Riding their first league win, St. Joseph's will continue Skyline Conference play facing two-time defending champion Yeshiva University, who have already clinched the regular season title, in a road match at the Binghampton Racquet Club in Edgewater, N.J. on Tuesday, April 19th starting at 8 p.m.
