Men's Tennis Falls to Brooklyn College
BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) men's tennis team dropped a 9-0, non-conference road decision to borough foe Brooklyn College (2-4) on Friday afternoon.
Valentina Velez Valencia (Brooklyn, N.Y./Bishop Kearney) had a strong effort at No. 6 singles collecting four games in a 6-2, 6-2 loss. She also paired up with George Garyfallos (Brooklyn, N.Y./Xaverian) for an 8-1 defeat at No. 3 doubles.
Daniel Vaitzman (Port Washington, N.Y./Paul D. Schreiber) picked up a game at the top of the lineup in his singles match and two games in the top pairs matchup.
The Bears (1-2) open Skyline Conference play on Sunday, March 31 hosting Purchase College at the USTA National Tennis Center with first serve set for 3 p.m.
