Men's Volleyball Loses to York College in Season Opener

(JAMAICA, NY)  Men's volleyball opened their first varsity season with a straight set loss to York College on Monday night at the York College Recreation Center.  St. Joseph's falls to 0-1 and York improves to 6-15.

The Bears held an early lead in the second set, but otherwise trailed for the entire match.  York College committed only eight attacking errors for the entire match and hit .493.

Christian Jocelyn (Queens, NY/St. John's Prep) led the Bears attack with four kills on nine attempts.  Maciej Sadowski (Brooklyn, NY/Cathedral Prep) dug up six and Ed Han (McLean, VA/W.T. Woodson) dished out five assists.

St. Joseph's returns to action on Wednesday night for a home match against City College of NY (4-13).  Game time is scheduled for 7:30 at Brooklyn Technical High School.
