Salomons Named Skyline Men’s Volleyball Player of the Week

NEW YORK — Helping to power the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) men's volleyball team to a come-from-behind victory over Yeshiva, senior Sean Salomons (Staten Island, N.Y./St. Peter's) was selected as the Skyline Conference men's volleyball Player of the Week, announced by the league office today.

In Thursday's five-set thriller where the Bears rallied from a 2-1 set deficit and erased two match points, Salomons led all players with a career-high 18 kills at an efficient .308 hitting percentage. He also stuffed three blocks (one solo), served up four aces, and brought up five digs.

The Player of the Week accolade is the second in team history and first since the 2016 season.

Riding a win in their league opener, the Bears (1-9, 1-0 Skyline) open a stretch of 11 straight road games traveling to defending league champion and preseason favorite SJC Long Island on Wednesday, March 15. First serve for the Skyline conference match in Patchogue, N.Y. is set for 7 p.m. with live stats and video on SJCBears.com
