BELLEROSE, NY – Alyson Chiaramonte (Staten Island, NY/Moore Catholic) remained undefeated in the circle tossing the second perfect game of her career and Lisa Scheer (Bayside, NY/Mary Louis) fired a one-hitter as the Lady Bears christened their new home field, Padavan-Preller Fields, with a doubleheader sweep of City Tech, 13-0 and 14-0.

Chiaramonte (4-0) owns both perfect games in school history, accomplishing the feat her freshman year with a 10-0 five inning victory against Sarah Lawrence.

The battery combo of Chiaramonte and Caitlyn Kakavas (Bayside, NY/St. Agnes) both had a pair of hits and each knocked a home run, the first four-baggers of the season for the Lady Bears.

St. Joseph's improves to 5-3 and City Tech falls to 0-8. The Lady Bears resume a five doubleheader home stand hosting Skyline rivals College of Mount Saint Vincent on Wednesday, March 30th. First pitch is scheduled for 3:30 pm.

Game 1 – St. Joseph's 13, City Tech 0 (5 inn.)

Chiaramonte was dominating in the circle striking out 12, including 11 of the final 12 outs. All three other balls put in play by the Yellow Jackets were grounders to the infield.

St. Joseph's jumped out to an early lead plating four runs in the opening frame. Scheer led off the scoring with an RBI double and Palmieri knocked a two-run single to center with the bases loaded.

The Lady Bears tacked on three runs in the second innings and crossed the eight-run threshold with a six run third where St. Joseph's reached starter Alyssa Seda for four extra base hits highlighted by a two-run triple by Chiaramonte followed by a two-run homer by Kakavas.

Game 2 – St. Joseph's 14, City Tech 0 (5 inn.)

Scheer (1-3) notched her first her first victory of the season carrying a bid for her second career no-hitter through 4.2 innings and is the second time this season a no-hitter has been spoiled in the final out. Scheer struck out 10 en route to the second one-hitter of her career. She also helped her own cause at the dish, going 3-for-3 and driving in four runs.

As in the opener, the Lady Bears jumped out to an early lead and never looked back. St. Joseph's sent six batters to the plate in the opening frame before City Tech could record an out and the Lady Bears posted five-run frames in both the second and third innings.

Chiaramonte ended her day with a two-run homer in the second. Andrea Sideli (Brooklyn, NY/Bishop Kearney) highlighted the third inning with a bases clearing, three-run triple to right center.
