The Lady Bears Last Time Out

St. Joseph's improved their winning streak to four games on Sunday afternoon after sweeping a doubleheader against United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) foe Maine-Presque Isle, riding freshman Destiny Marino's walk-off single to a dramatic 6-5 victory in game one and finishing off the sweep with a comfortable 9-3 win in game two.

Game one starter Theresa Armano picked up her second victory in as many days, allowing five earned runs and striking out four in a seven-inning complete game. The freshman held the Owls scoreless in the final four innings, giving her offense the opportunity to storm back. The Lady Bears were led by another strong starting performance from Jamilynn McGowan in game two. The sophomore surrendered just two earned runs over 6.2 innings, improving to 2-3 on the year.

Maria Gentile led St. Joseph's on offense, finishing 4-for-6 on the day with three runs batted in. Eddy produced a team-best four RBIs, all in the second game, to bring her total to seven in the previous four contests.

Armano and Eddy Snag Weekly Awards

Cardinal Watch

York has suffered eight consecutive losing seasons, including a 7-21 record in 2014. The Cardinals kicked off their 2015 campaign with the Fast Pitch Dreams Spring Classic in Myrtle Beach, S.C., losing all six of their contests by an average margin of 16.8 runs. A scheduled contest against New York University on Tuesday was cancelled due to rain, so the Cardinals will be itching to build positive momentum at St. Joseph's on Thursday.

During the Fast Pitch Classic, York managed just three runs in six games and struggled to contain the opposing offenses. Junior Karen Werner led the team with a .250 batting average, while freshman pitcher Darlene Judan started a team-high three games.

York Last Time Out

York dropped a tripleheader on March 20, falling 13-0 to Kentucky Christian University, 11-0 to New Paltz and 24-1 against Rutgers-Camden.

Inside the 'Cats' Cradle

Following a successful 19-18 2013-campaign, Baruch mustered just three wins in 21 contests last season. The 2015 Bearcats have been nagged by eight postponements and one cancellation thus far. In their four contests, they've suffered lopsided sweeps at the hands of CUNYAC rivals Brooklyn and Hunter College.

Baruch Last Time Out

In a CUNYAC meeting on Monday, Hunter controlled the Bearcats 23-2 and 20-0 in a doubleheader rout.
