Ashley McQuillan Named to AD3I First Team All-Independent

KANSAS CITY, MO – Adding to her growing list of accolades, sophomore guard Ashley McQuillan (Brooklyn, NY/St. Francis Prep) was named to the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) Women's Basketball All-Independent First Team in an announcement released by the Association earlier this week.

McQuillan, who last season was selected as AD3I Rookie of the Year and named to the Second Team All-Independent, is the first Lady Bear basketball player to be named to the First Team All-Independent.  She received Player of the Week honors on Feb. 26 and led the Lady Bears in scoring (14.6), three-pointers made (40), free throws made (71), steals (96), and was tied for the lead in assists (72).

The St. Francis Prep product had nine games with 20 or more points, including the Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference Tournament championship game, where she received tournament MVP honors, leading the Lady Bears to their first HVWAC Championship and USCAA National Tournament appearance in four years.

Across AD3I McQuillan finished ranked in the top 10 in scoring (#5), steals (#5), free throw percentage (#7), three-point field goal percentage (#8), three-pointers made (#9) and field goals made (#10).

McQuillan was also named USCAA Honorable Mention All-American and HVWAC All-Conference.

The All-Independent women's basketball teams were selected by the women's basketball coaches from AD3I member schools.
