McQuillan Sweeps Weekly Player of the Week Accolades

BROOKLYN, NY – Recognizing her fine play for the week ending January 31, sophomore guard Ashley McQuillan (Brooklyn, NY/St. Francis Prep) was named Player of the Week by the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I), United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) and Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference (HVWAC).

McQuillan led St. Joseph's College women's basketball team to a 1-1 record on the week averaging 24.0 points on 58 percent shooting from the floor (19-for-33) and 64 percent shooting (7-for-11) from behind the arc.  The highlight of her week came in an AD3I win over Lancaster Bible where she scored 10 points in the first three minutes and finished with a season-high 28 points on 12-for-16 shooting, including four three-pointers, dishing out four assists with no turnovers, all in only 24 minutes of work.

This is the first time this academic year a Bear or a Lady Bear has received national player of the week honors from AD3I or USCAA.  It is the third time in McQuillan's career to receive the honor.
