Three Lady Bears Named to HVWAC All-Conference Team

BROOKLYN, NY – For the second time in three seasons the St. Joseph's women's basketball team finished their Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference (HVWAC) schedule undefeated in conference play.  The Lady Bears went 5-0 this season and Ashley McQuillan (Brooklyn, NY/St. Francis Prep), Janine Doran (South Ozone Park, NY/Archbishop Molloy)and Kelly McNamee (Glendale, NY/Mary Louis) were named to the HVWAC All-Conference team.

McQuillan finishes her career by picking up her fourth HVWAC All-Conference selection.  The senior guard led the team in points per game with 13.8.  McQuillan has been the team scoring leader every year of her career and the fourth highest all-time in the Coach Carbone era.

McQuillan was a two-time HVWAC Player of the Week this season.  In addition to leading the team in points, McQuillan finished with the team lead in assists for the fourth consecutive year.  Her 2.8 assists per game were both a team-high and a career-best.   She finished the season scoring in double-digits in 19 of 26 games played.

Janine Doran receives conference year-end honors for the second straight year and second time in her career.  Doran averaged a career-high 10.8 points per game and led the team with a career-best 6.3 rebounds per game.  She also saw her shooting percentage increase 6.4 percentage points from 2011, connecting on 42.4% from the floor, the first time in her career breaking the 40% mark.  The junior forward recorded four double-doubles including an 18 point, 11 rebound effort against the College of Staten Island, the program's first ever win over the Dolphins.

Kelly McNamee has been named to the HVWAC All-Conference team for the first time in her career.  The sophomore guard was a key contributor off the bench for the Lady Bears and finished fourth in scoring with a career-high 7.9 points per game.  She eclipsed 20 points in a game twice this season, for the first two times in her career.  A gifted shooter, McNamee led the Lady Bears in field goal percentage (48.3%), three-point field goal percentage (35.0%) and free-throw percentage (82.1%) and dished out 2.0 assists per game, second on the team.
