Lady Bears Rank Among NCAA Division III Statistical Leaders

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – In the latest NCAA Division III women's basketball statistical report released yesterday, St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) was ranked in the top 10 percent in several categories and individually, several Lady Bears had their names sprinkled among the leaders.

As a team, the Lady Bears were ranked 20th in the nation in 3-point field goal defense and 23rd in the nation in field goal defense limiting their opposition to 20.3 percent and 30.6 percent, respectively.  The Lady Bears 15.9 assists per game placed them just inside the top 10 percentile (out of 450 teams) at No. 43.

Sophomore Samantha Retas earned the highest individual ranking, tied for No. 28 with four double-doubles on the season. Retas also ranked in the top 100 in rebounds (9.5 rpg, No. 88) and field-goal percentage (48.5%, No. 92).

Senior Teresa Mangan was ranked 40th in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.94) and sophomore Jennifer Miller also cracked the top 100 with 1.63 rejections per game.
